Mathilde Gilhet
Biografia
Born in France, Mathilde Gilhet began her training as a dancer in 2001 at the School of the Ballet du Nord before joining 3 years later, the Centre Choregraphique National of Carolyn Carlson in Roubaix, France.
In June 2007, Mathilde graduated from the Centre Choregraphique of Carolyn Carlson and received the diploma of choreographic studies.
In September 2007, she joined the Ballet Junior de Geneve in Switzerland, where she worked with many choreographers including Alexander Ekman, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Lucinda Childs, Itzik Galili, Patrick Delcroix, AndonisFoniadakis, etc.
In 2010, Mathilde was a member of the Alias Company under the direction of Guilherme Botelho, and performed “Romeo and Juliet” at the Forum Meyrin in Geveva.
This same year, she joined the Apotosoma Dance Company and performed “Do Us Apart” by Andonis Foniadakis at the Theatre de la Ville (Paris, France) and Athens International Dance Festival (Greece).
From September 2010 to 2017, Mathilde moved to Lisbon, Portugal and joined the Quorum Ballet under the direction of Daniel Cardoso where she worked with choreographers such as Donald Byrd, Itzik Galili, Rui Horta, Jonathan Hollander, Thaddeus Davis, … In 2011, she was invited to present her creation “Bord her Lines” at the Festival International of Contemporary Dance in Evora, Portugal.
Mathilde performed with the Quorum Ballet in more than 15 different countries such as Germany, China, Finland, Ecuador, Thailand, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, etc.
Recently, Mathilde had the opportunity to work on a new creation with FLUX + FLOW Dance and Movement Center in Columbus (USA) performing in several cities of Ohio and teaching workshops to introduce European Contemporary Dance for the Ohio Dancer’s community.
She teaches company class and workshops at Quorum Ballet, Superior School of Lisbon, Superior School of Leiria, Quorum Academy, Mdance, Dance Factory, and Diarte.
In 2018 Mathilde will present her new creation, ‘Mirage’ at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in partnership with the French Embassy in Portugal, OPART/Estúdios Victor Córdon/Companhia Nacional de Bailado and Companhia Olga Roriz.
She will also participate in several internationally recognized competitions, as a judge. Mathilde has received more than 20 invitations in 6 different countries.
